So Tomorrow Is Another Day!

So im still not much better and this current relapse doesnt look like its shifting so another day in the house for us it was. Which was great as it was just another reason to get arty n crafty, one of our favourite things to do ;-)

Matilda was as per her beautiful smiley self and I love how she comes bounding in and tells me 'ssssss' as she puts her finget to her lip and then makes a gruntin snoring sound as she tells me to snore and pretend Im still asleep so she can climb up on me and give me a cuddle to 'wake me up'.....NOT that I snore of course!

Anyway we currently have our house up for sale as ideally we would like to move somewhere not too far away but vertainly somewhere more rural, a lot more rural! BUT we also need to utilise our house in a way which works best for us as a family, as individuals and as my health is having so many troughs and not enough peaks at the moment so weve been swapping some of the bedrooms and recreationl spaces around and doing makeovers on other bedrooms!

One of them being Kathryns bedroom! Shes just back from a hot and sunny week away and we planned a few weeks ago that we would surprise her while she was away and do a makeover on her room and ensuite...even tho it was just done in Dec shes asked for it to be white so she could change accessories but didnt really like it so I decided after a lot of fishing to see what she liked in the way of designs and themes and so I came up with a Cath Kidson meets Shabby Chic approach!
Papa K made her some fab shelves, dressing table and study area with lots of storage cubes built in and I got going with my beloved sewing machine and transformed some of her old bits into new bits! We bought her a new bed but the headboard was pretty bland so I had some material left over from her curtains so I covered her headboard and chair to match her curtains and duvet cover. I also made her loads of little hanging bits to scatter around her room,  hearts, little fabric covered canvas shapes with Cath Kidson materials, wardrobe handle hangers and I also made her a light shade from lots of different designs of cath Kisdon materials I had bought over the last few weeks with her makeover in mind!
So having no idea what we had planned I was doubly excited to have her home on Saturday and we waited with baited breath to see how we could fool her into going straight up to her room and us follow to see her reaction! So after she showed us her photos and excitedly told us how great a time she'd had we said ok take your case and bags stright up then they are out of the way...and of course we had to help her carry them up ;-)

It was priceless! She opened her bedroom door and just stood there looking around speechless and then..................she cried and came and gave me the biggest tightest hug and thanked us both for her ''beatiful new room'! All our hard work had paid off and all my grafting was well worth this relapse lingering a little longer I think ;-) One extremely happy oldest daughter :-)

This is what she saw when she opened her door!

Too cute!
I recovered her chair to match her curtains and duvet :-)
Her 'LOVE' wall!
A few more bits I bought and made....

Lots of storage and stufy space ;-)

Her lightshade I made her from Cath Kidson material I had bought over the last few weeks!

Her storage and study area ;-)
Some cuties on her 'LOVE' wall ;-)

The next room to get an overhaul and move around was my craft room! I couldnt believe how much I have collected over the years but I love every bit of it and it all gets used....honest!

So my wonderful David and his handy work built me new work benches and storage areas going all the way around the biggest room on the third floor. One part for me to complete my paperwork etc... my office....(thats where the serious boring stuff takes place),  one part for my jewellery making area...one part for my sewing projects....one part for my card crafts and stationary making......I love to get lost in my craf room and create whether its making cards, soaps, wedding stationary, papercrafts, cross stitching, candle making, jewellery making, sewing or one of the many other arty and crafty activities I do...theres too many to list but it is my passion and one I share (maybe to enthusiastically) with as many people who are interested :-)

So its all finished now and I am now free to create and craft again and Matilda and Kathryn love soing anything creative too (mind it took a while for Kathryn to get motivated) but now shes really into scrapbooking.....so this is our haven where we can do and will come to get lost in making out hand crafted gifts we do for Christmas every year as well as all the other special occasions throughout the year........its just perfect and I have my amazing husband to thank ;-)
My paperwork and office area where all the boring serious stuff happens ;-(

Moving on to my Sewing area.....

Some of my crafting Mags!

Some of my jewellery making bits

My card crafting area

Loads more storage areas now too I LOVE it...Thanks Mr K ;-)

So back to Miss Matilda....todays arts and crafts creations were Crayons! Well...kind of crayons....we made some crayons out of crayone but ours are better shapes and more chunky that the usual shape making them better and easier to hold......they will be put in as part of her cousins Christmas presents along with a few other handmade and homemade goodies.....oh and I managed to melt an alleged silicone mould....hmmmmm wont be using them from Ikea again but the others were all fine and she had fun playing with hers making more art work to hang in her playroom!

So tomorrow is another day and I wonder what will unfold, what we will do, learn, explore, laugh about, cry about, eat, play with and enjoy!

Another day in paradise!

So today we decided that as Im still not feeling the best that we would have a creative day at home!
So after Matilda woke about 9.10am we had a little tootle out to the garden and fed Winston our pet rabbit! She loves him and loves this part of  the day when she gets to play with him and tend to his every need...in a fashion :-)

Then we had some time just playing in the garden on the swings and slide and then she decided she would like to get her pjs wet and play in the water and sand pit!  (yes we were all still in our pjs in the garden at this point)

Then daddy had kindly put some breakfast in the oven so by the time we all sat down to eat it was more like brunch....lovely it was too!!!

After a little rest and a bit of reading we decided we'd get on with making some more Christmas tree ornaments...some for our own trees and some to give as gifts along with our other homemade and handmade goodies we make every year for friends and family at Christmas.......so much fun..so easy and soooo effective! AND we managed to inspire some other lovely ladies too.....bonus!

One of the after pics.....a Christmas Tree!

And below is how they look before they are baked!

Matilda had a particularly long snooze today too so after Kathryn had came back with our shopping we put it away and we prepared and made tonights dinner together! Matilda missed out but we did leave some shopping for her to put away as she loves helping with that too ;-)
So another day in Paradise was had here at the Kilvingtons residence and no double another lovely adventerous and somewhat crafty day awaits us tomorrow!
